South America is the second largest producer of tobacco in the world, making it a significant area of operation within Universal’s family of regions. We handle the leaf sales and processing for an estimated 15% to 20% of the annual production of flue-cured Virginia, burley and Galpão tobaccos in Brazil.

Universal’s processing facility in Brazil manages all of our sourcing, processing, and selling of flue-cured and burley leaf tobaccos in this region. It is equipped with a specialized staff and contemporary processing technology that provides the flexibility to meet specific customer needs and the most rigid international quality standards.
